International Exchange

Home >

Over the past few years, the MRA and its member teams have hosted a number of mountain rescues delegations from foreign countries, to include the Peoples Republic of China, Taiwan, Israel and Italy.  In addition, US MRA members have been invited to visit MRA teams overseas, including Israel, Italy, Slovenia, Taiwan, Austria and Switzerland.

This page will be devoted to recording these activities, MRA members who can submit reports, summaries, photos, news articles or other information should contact a member of the exchange committee listed below. We will make review and submit for posting on this page.

The purpose of these programs is to build friendships, encourage cultural and professional ties, and develop cooperative ventures. Pursuing the same type of positive benefits, a number of MRA teams have informally developed ties with international teams, we have another page on this site devoted to the Partnership Program.

The ultimate goal of these programs is to strengthen communication and cooperation between international mountain rescue teams and, in so doing, further the MRA mission of promoting mountain safety and providing the best response to those in need in the mountains.
